Cairdeas is in a comfortable setting, we sat outside while the waiters brought us our tastings. Both my husband and I rate it as our # 1 winery of the trip. It wasn’t cheap as we bought a couple of bottles, and unlike most wineries, there was no discount for tastings when shopping, but we will enjoy the wine so just a small complaint. The atmosphere of the castle made me believe that I was in the European landscape, it is a really nice viewpoint over the lake. Definitely recommend this hotel in the hills for a romantic getaway. About Chelan Wineries
There are more than 30 wineries in Chelan and the vineyards cover more than 300 hectares. Landed on Tunnel Hill on a second trip to Lake Chelan after reading how good it was. This is one of my favorite Lake Chelan wineries which surprised me because it was a last minute addition to our itinerary when we first visited Lake Chelan.
Cairdeas (pronounced “Card-iss”), a nod to their heritage, is an Irish Gaelic word meaning friendship, benevolence or alliance. As with winemaking, the fresh juice of our delicious apples is converted into cider through the fermentation process. A Chelan Electric Bike tour group will join your shared experience. On our last visit, we rented this great vacation home on the water. It had a jacuzzi on the lake and a steam room with a window facing the lake. We write about it here if you are interested in staying there as well.

Wine Tasting Tips
Cairderas started his winery in West Seattle, but decided to relocate its Rhône-style wines to Lake Chelan. I would probably never have found Cairderas (pronounced “Card-is”), but it was recommended to me by the owner of Cloudlift Cellars, one of my favorite Seattle wineries. There are 27 awesome tasting rooms around Lake Chelan! We picked four of the best on this wine tasting route. The tasting room at the Chelan is beautifully decorated, the staff is super friendly, and the wines are excellent. I will definitely stop again next time I visit the Lake Chelan area.
Reservations are not required but are recommended so call ahead during business hours. Our unique climate and glacial soil in the Lake Chelan region create optimal growing conditions and produce some of the richest and tastiest fruits in the Pacific Northwest. With rich soils right on our doorstep, the region is known for our incredible grapes and apples.

Sorrento’s was named “One of America’s Best Restaurants with Picturesque Views” by OpenTable and overlooks both its vineyards and the entire Chelan Valley. Combined with its award-winning wine and Italian-inspired menu, this is the best restaurant in the wine region.
